“Me Gusta Una Mirada de Agonía Porque Yo Sé Que Es Verdad” 2016. Acrylic on canvas, 12 x 12″
The title is a line from a poem by Emily Dickinson, translated into Spanish for what could be a Flamenco dancer slipping on a banana peel…
I shall frame this little painting and send it off to Moscow later this week. Ella is the curator of an ongoing exhibition at Skolkovo Gallery (video by Alexey Stepanov). I wish I could go.
The painting itself has nothing to do with Ella, nor my state of mind at the time. Often I have no idea what’s escaping from my brain barn.
I hope she likes it anyway.
